1.1 Project background

The Local Climate Adaptive Living (LoCAL) Facility of the UN Capital Development (UNCDF) was designed to promote climate change-resilient communitoes and local economies by establishing a stardard, internationally recognized country-based mechanism to channel climate finance to local government authorities in Least Developing Countries (LCDs) including Tuvalu. The Ministry of Finance through the Department of Climate Change of the Government of
Tuvalu wishes to engage a suitable and qualified Tuvalu Citizen to work as a National
Project Coordinator for the Tuvalu Managing Water Scarcity Project which is now
available within the Department.
A request for a full Terms of Reference or Job Description will be issued to the interested
applicant from the Climate Change Department Office during working hours. All

The consultation will focus on prioritizing te technologies using a multi-criteria analysis.

The GCF Secretariat has sent out a Save the Date for this regional dialogue. This is an annual event that the Fund organised to bring together NDAs, AEs, DPs, and other relevant partners to increase understanding of GCF, and at the same time focus on support for paradigm shift investments in the region. This dialogue will include a series of technical discussions and workshops targeting specific topics designed to support programming for both private and public sectors.

The Chair of CANCC (RMI) has sent out a Save the Date to all members of the CANCC for the Atoll Policy Dialogue on Adaptation and the High Level Event that they are going to host. The policy dialogue will engage technical officers and experts in the area of Adaptation. The high  level event will bring together Ministers for the signing of the MOU on the secretarial support for the CANCC Chair.

This is the last meeting of the PACRES project as the project is coming to end this year. Penivao is the responsible officer within CCD for this project. Funding is made available by SPREP for the attendance of 1 official.

This meeting was initially schedule to the Q1 but was postpone due to conflicting schedules of the SPC. This project is implemented by the CCD. This is the first in-person meeting for the Steering Committee of this project. Alamoana and Betty are project officers for this project, and Pepetua oversee the implementation of the project. Formal invitations are yet to be sent out by SPC. Only an email for the ‘save the date’ has been circulated.

Development of the project concept on Climate Resilient Housing Project for submission to the GCF. International and local consultant from the Abt firm is travelling with CCD Officers to the northern islands.
